If you’ve just gotten your hands on the DJI Mavic Pro and accessories, you’re probably itching to get it running and outside. However, if you’re a beginner to the world of drones, it might take some practice before you’re sailing through the sky with it. This article will look at how to get your Mavic Pro in the air quickly and easily.

Unpack the Box

First, you’ll want to remove the DJI Mavic Pro and accessories from the box. Take a quick look at the contents to be sure nothing is broken or missing.

Charge it Up

You’ll need to charge both the controller and the battery for the drone. The battery will plug into a power supply and charges on its own. When it’s at full charge, the battery lights will go off. For the controller, you’ll need to plug into a micro USB cable to the controller and place the other end of the cable into the power supply.

Connect Your Smartphone

You should have a USB cable and Lightning cable that you can use for your Android or iOS phone. Connect that to your phone and then mount it. You can then unfold the controller and connect it to your mobile device.

Install the DJI GO App

You can get this app on the Google Play store or App store by searching for its name. After it is installed, go ahead and open it. You’ll want to make an account to use it.

Mount Your Propellers

There are two types of propellers in your box, one set will have a white ring on them and the other will not. White rings mean that the propeller rotates counter clockwise. Match up the propellers with the motor rings. To connect them, align the notches to the holes on the motor and push down. Rotate to lock them in.

Get Up in the Air

After all of this, you’re ready to enjoy some flight. Your Mavic Pro will establish a home point, which will be shown with an “H” symbol. At this point, tap the takeoff button and slide your fingers to launch or use push both sticks to the lower corner positions to turn on the motors. The drone will begin to hover, and you can start to practice to get an idea of how the controls work!
